Enterprise Search - search in enterprise document repositories

In Enterprise Search, the user requirements and types of information a user desires often differs from Web Search. An employee may have seen the information they are seeking or know some attribute about it, and many times the search involves finding one particular document. Additionally, documents in an enterprise often do not include links, which are useful in web search. The following projects address different aspects of enterprise search, and some are also applicable to web search as well.

  • DocuBrowse: a faceted document browsing and search system that presents results from online enterprise document repositories within user-created document hierarchies.
  • Session Search: investigative enterprise search
  • Reverted Indexing: recommending follow-on queries
  • Genre Identification: identification of office document type for electronic documents based on image characteristics. The genres have been used as a facet in DocuBrowse.
Reboard - supporting the reuse of whiteboard content
